“Oh Israel, you have destroyed yourself; but in Me is your help. I will be your King. Where is any other that may save you in all your cities?” (Hosea 13:9-10)
God’s word to mankind has not changed since our first parents rebelled against God’s authority. We all enter this world in the state of unbelief, being dead spiritually and lost in our sins. The good news concerning God’s salvation for all humanity, that was delivered to those shepherds on the Hills of Bethlehem, upon the birth of God’s Son, is as valid today as it was over 2000 years ago!!
“And the angel said to the shepherds, ‘Fear not for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour which is Christ the Lord.’” (Luke 2:10-11)
The moment Adam and Eve destroyed their souls through disobeying God’s direct command, God in mercy, out of love for His special creation, offered His help to have them reconciled to Him. Jesus Christ, being God and man, is the only person who has never needed the saving of His soul. On our own, we have no capability to gain favour with God and we have no access to God. God devised a plan whereby His Son would do everything necessary for us to be brought to be at peace with God and be empowered to please God. How can that happen? By believing what the Bible teaches about the perfect life of Jesus Christ, His sacrificial death as an atonement for sin and His resurrection three days later. This proved that He was everything He claimed to be as the Son of God – the Saviour of the world!
The life and ministry of Jesus Christ of Nazareth is recorded in all four Gospels in the New Testament, giving four different viewpoints by four different authors without a single contradiction. The Apostle John took the time to make known why the Gospels were written. “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life in His name.” (John 20:30-31). We have no one to blame for our lost and dead spiritual condition. Redemption for now and eternity is offered by Jesus Christ!
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” (John 5:24)
WE DON’T NEED TO BE DESTROYED! – CHRIST OFFERS TO REDEEM US!!
