A lot has changed from a few years ago. If you truly believe in God and follow Him, your life is increasingly subjugated by an intellectual elite who wish to impose their own ideas on what they think is best for everyone else. One of these notions is that all sexual and class distinctions should be eliminated. The brainchild behind replacing traditional terms from the past such as Mr. and Mrs., or Mother or Father with guardians, caregivers, and partners, which is what the British Columbia government had scripted into their regulations across fifteen of their ministries. They have begun a crazed trend that will more than likely find its way into other provinces across Canada. What seems to be heard on almost every street corner is how inclusive and diverse Canada should be about sexual identities. It answers the question why such groups as the LGBTQ and Marxists have fought against traditional values, especially intolerant toward the institution of family and marriage of one man and one wife. Avid supporters of left-wing politics are mostly atheist; philosophically they disagree with a creation order and a Creator who is responsible for it. They see the world from a materialistic worldview, which means that all that exists is in the material world, and taken to its logical consequence means that man has no need to believe in a Creator or that One even exists. Lenin put it this way, “religion is the opiate of the people”.
Fact is Christians are committed entirely to God. They live out their ethics always asking themselves what does the whole Bible teach us about God and what are His expectation for His handywork? That means that our actions, attitudes, and beliefs are singularly aimed at receiving a five-star rating from Him (that hardly ever can be said of any of us, though). Pleasing God is of great importance for us. Life is never simple so differing variants occur where we must decide between whether we are to please man or God, and when it comes to that, we must choose God always. Christians down through the ages have had to face that choice yet remained loyal to their Savior. Knowing when crossing the line is wrong is the essence of Christian ethics and it is important for believers to exercise discernment in these matters. Knowing what Scripture says about moral living is essential. We are told to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him.” (Colossians 1:10) That may often translate in denying man’s attempts to re-orientate us to their way of thinking. We are forewarned that resistance does not fare well with the “cancel culture” crowd. Often enough advocates for the Judaeo-Christian worldview who do not agree with their debased thinking and futile ways (see Romans 1) are deemed to be racist and bigots, and therefore shamed into silence. You can expect to be bullied until you surrender in their war of attrition against morality. Respected officials in government are sponsors of it. British Columbia’s Chief Judge Melissa Gillespie issued a directive that whenever lawyers begun proceedings, that they had to make sure that “inclusive gender pronouns” were part of their address to the court. While the immediate reaction was to contest this rule, after further thought many were convinced that repercussions would come their way from the bench, possibly in the form of a Human Rights complaint if, in fact, they voiced their objections. They felt intimidated and complied to the unfairness of the order. Be aware that the erasing of genders is only the beginning! What has taken place already will continue down a slippery slope that will lead to additional deteriorating conditions in our once free-thinking society. Unless God intercedes, the moral state of our country is only getting worse. Any disclaimers to what we are seeing has only to think through the many inconsistencies and contradictions that have gone on in the past little while. Everyone from pastors who are intimidated and fined when they refuse to marry same sex couples, to bakers being fined $135.000.000 for not providing a cake to a lesbian couple, to parents nullified with threats of imprisonment if they defy court orders that would prevent them from protecting and teaching their own children, yes, their very own flesh and blood, not to mutilate themselves both physically and mentally not to mention morally, their spiritual and physical bodies through sex changes. Parental authority is being trampled on by ungodly men and women and their wicked laws, by lawmakers who ignore the Judaeo-Christian tradition from previous eras and fashion amoral legislation. A recent rash of bills ranging from bill medically assisted death, changes to student summer programs wherein funding is given only to those who support abortion, to conversion therapy, where anyone given counsel or preventing such a thing could be criminalized. Can you imagine that it would ever come to this, that the convictions to warn and keep our own children from transgenderism has become a crime in Canada? What is next? So are we to fear and feel we have no recourse but to bow to such wickedness in our world? What can a people who fear God and respect His commandments do under such conditions?
It is wrong to think you have to submit to it. Though faced with repercussions, you should refuse being part of these immoral laws. While Scripture teaches us that we are to respect the authority of government which is ordained of God; however, when rules run contrary to God’s established rule for believers, in these cases, we must obey God, not man. Regardless of the consequences, God’s authority rules our lives. That is why men in the Bible such as Abraham, Moses, Joshua, David were given the comforting promise of God’s presence and help at critical times of duress and hardships that they had to face during their lifetimes. God promises us His presence during difficult times.
“Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, ‘I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER ABANDON YOU’…” (Hebrews 13:5 – emphasis mine)
This same promise helps to see us through the rough road ahead. God will always be our comfort and strength today when we face an uphill battle. God never weakens or loses ground in this war of attrition. He will come out on top either in this life or the next. Knowing this, we must remain loyal to our God, seeing that He has given us His sure promise.
May God be your hope and strength in what is before us. Do not fear man. Instead fear God.
“But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!” (Luke 12:5)
If you are not a Christian but wish to become one, your most important need is to acknowledge your sins before God by seeking Christ who has died to forgive us our sins. The Bible speaks about forgiveness and repentance together often enough to teach us that faith in Christ means we are truly sorry about our sins, and we have been at odds with God, but now through faith in what His Son did for us, we turn to Him away from our sins, and do not wish to live in sin the way we did before. Salvation is an act of God’s grace in the sinner’s life.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8, 9)
